TMJ Centre Melbourne
Specialist clinic
TMJ Centre Melbourne is the clinic people reach after months, sometimes years, of being told their headaches, jaw clicking or facial pain were something else. The team’s results once a patient arrives were never the problem.
Getting patients to arrive had become one. Through 2025 the website lost more than half the searches it used to show up for, most of them the symptom and education searches that bring in new patients, and enquiries fell with them. The old site asked visitors to book before it had explained anything. Symptoms were buried, headings were clinical, and the trust signals that matter to an anxious patient sat near the bottom of the page.
By the time Redfox was engaged in December 2025, the clinic was taking fewer than half the enquiries it had taken at the start of the year.
First we stopped the slide: a move to new hosting and a round of urgent fixes while the rebuild was planned. Then we rebuilt the site around the way a patient actually arrives, by symptom, not by service.
The work included:
- A symptom-led structure: a page for each of the problems people search, from jaw clicking and locking to headaches, ear symptoms and clenching, each leading to the right treatment
- A patient journey that explains before it asks: what the symptom might mean, how the clinic diagnoses it, what a first visit involves, then the booking
- The TMJ Symptom Quiz, now the Pre-Assessment Check, so a patient can self-identify and leave their details before committing to an appointment
- A practitioner referral pathway for the dentists, physios and GPs who send patients, with its own form
- Content rebuilt with clinician review, medical citations and the structured data search engines expect from a clinic
- The site positioned around the clinical team rather than one practitioner, with the team’s credentials brought forward
Stabilise, then rebuild, then measure what matters.
How we helped
What changed
Five months after launch, more patients are enquiring, and they arrive already knowing why.
Enquiries up a third
The new site’s forms have taken 316 enquiries with contact details since launch, 61 a month across June to September, against 45 a month in the five months before it went live.
The quiz does the heavy lifting
Most enquiries now come through the symptom check rather than a contact form, so the clinic hears from people who have already recognised their own symptoms on the page.
Found by symptom, not by name
Three in four clicks from Google come from people searching their symptoms or a treatment, not the clinic’s name. The core local searches rank first.
Climbing back
Search clicks are up on the year before and nearly half up on the August 2025 low. The lost long-tail visibility is still being rebuilt, and the clinic knows it.
Enquiries a month, before and after the rebuild
| Period | Enquiries a month | Source |
|---|---|---|
| January to June 2025 | 105 | Old site forms |
| July to December 2025 | 68 | Old site forms, after the visibility drop |
| January to May 2026 | 45 | Old site forms, before launch |
| June to September 2026 | 61 | New site forms |
The recovery is under way. It is not finished, and the next phase is judged on booked appointments, not rankings.
Why it matters
A clinic that helps people who have been misdiagnosed cannot afford to be hard to find.
The patients TMJ Centre Melbourne treats have usually been searching for a long time, and they search for the pain, not the diagnosis. A website that matched that was always going to matter more than one that led with the clinic.
The rebuild gave the clinic a site that explains first and asks second, and a pathway that turns a worried search into a conversation. The enquiry numbers moved within weeks.
Redfox continues to look after the site, the keyword tracking and the monthly reporting, with the symptom content being rebuilt page by page. The job now is turning more of those enquiries into first appointments.
Clear answers for people who have waited too long for them
TMJ Centre Melbourne brought the hard part: a team that gets results for patients other clinicians could not help. Our job was to make sure those patients could find them, and feel safe enough to ask.
